Job Description

Role: SDET (Backend/API Automation – Java, Rest Assured) – Level II / III

Location: Remote (Preferred: Washington, DC / New York, NY)

FTE only

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with strong expertise in backend/API automation testing.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java, Rest Assured, and building scalable test automation frameworks for microservices-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks using Java and Rest Assured

Automate test cases for RESTful services and backend systems

Collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment

Validate data across services, databases, and APIs

Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)

Perform test execution, debugging, and root cause analysis

Ensure high test coverage and quality across releases

Required Skills & Experience:

6+ years (Level II) / 9+ years (Level III) in QA Automation / SDET roles

Strong programming skills in Java

Hands-on experience with Rest Assured for API automation

Experience testing RESTful APIs & microservices architecture

Knowledge of TestNG / JUnit, Maven/Gradle

Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies

Experience with version control tools (Git)

Good to Have:

Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber)

Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes

Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling)

Database validation using SQL

Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
