The Role_

// As part of our continued growth into new regions, we are building new functionality and onboarding customers and partners at an ever-increasing rate.

We are seeking a skilled Backend Test Automation Engineer with expertise in testing distributed systems using a combination of RESTful and event-driven architecture. This role combines strong backend automation skills with the ability to perform manual end-to-end testing of complex features across systems while using modern AI tools (LLMs, copilots, Claude, AI test assistants) to increase productivity, improve test coverage and accelerate debugging.

Responsibilities_

Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test strategies and cases for testing applications based on customer requirements

Review and enhance test strategies and cases, adding value to end-to-end testing plans

Collaborate with product management to translate new features into test cases

Review and analyze requirements and technical design documents providing timely feedback

Maintain and extend the capabilities of existing test frameworks

Support teammates by sharing knowledge and learning from each other

Perform manual or automated e2e testing to identify and report bugs, ensuring high-quality software

Use AI to identify edge cases and test scenarios and apply AI for test data generation

Continuously evaluate new AI tools that improve QA productivity

About You_

Proficient in Java/Kotlin for writing and maintaining automation scripts

Familiar with Kafka connectors, consumers, and producers

Strong manual testing skills with experience in automated testing of complex systems

Skilled in developing test strategies and cases for cross-functional features in complex environments, ensuring appropriate test coverage across the delivery cycle

Proficient in API testing using tools like Postman and browser debugging tools

Collaborative with developers on testing features and advocating for QA processes

Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of test automation into deployment workflows

Knowledgeable in BDD and TDD, with the ability to explain their concepts effectively

Experience in using AI tools practically to improve productivity

Independent, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and methodologies

Able to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, advocating for QA best practices

Nice to Have_

ISTQB Certification

Interest in expanding knowledge of the entire system beyond daily responsibilities

Experience with performance and load testing

Familiarity with AWS services

Ability to visualize and articulate improvements to continuously evolve test strategies

Knowledge of agile methodologies like SCRUM and KANBAN
